Browser Requirements
This site is designed to be an interactive area for inputting course
and degree program information for DESC.info. In order to take full
advantage of the display features and input tools, users strongly are urged
to use Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. Netscape 4.0 or higher will work but
has experienced significant problems and will render pages more slowly than
will Internet Explorer.
There is no impediment to having more than one browser installed on a work
station, so users of Netscape and other unsupported browsers should consider
downloading and installing Internet Explorer. Regardless
of what browser is used, cookies must be enabled in order to sign in and use
this site.
If You Experience Problems
Many intermittent problems can be fixed by clearing the memory
and/or disk cache in your browser. If you experience a problem, clear your
cache, then close your browser and restart the browser. If this does not fix
the problem, please e-mail technical support at desc.info@scetv.org.
The Registration Process
Before you can begin using the DESC.info administration
tools, you first must register. IMPORTANT: Remember
both your name and password exactly as you entered them. When you log in,
you must provide your user name and password. Attempting to log in will fail
unless you supply the EXACT user name and password you used for registration.
Your Login Account
Once you have registered, there should be no need to register
again. If you end a session and come back to the DESC.info Administration
Web Site, skip the registration and go to "Log in."
Course/Degree Program Status
When you add an item, its status is set to Not Listed.
ETV staff check the database for new entries, making sure the additions are
appropriate and have no visible errors, misspellings, etc. If the new course/degree
program meets the appropriate requirements, the status is changed to Listed
and it becomes available to student searches.
