Purpose:

To ensure that every health care professional, first responder, or concerned citizen has the opportunity to identify and locate training courses offered across the state that will address the core competencies in emergency preparedness for public health.

This website is intended to serve as a central clearinghouse for all training events offered in South Carolina that specifically address public health, terrorism and disaster preparedness. This site will afford the user access to state-specific training that will enhance the capability of health care professionals and first responders to respond to any chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive (CBRNE) event. Training coordinators throughout South Carolina involved in workforce development relevant to CBRNE preparedness can also utilize this website to enhance collaboration and avoid duplication of training efforts and resources.

This website is a product of the Training Advisory Sub-Committee (TASC), a subsidiary of the South Carolina State Bioterrorism Advisory Council. TASC consists of multiple government and private agencies from throughout the state who have interests and/or specialties in bioterrorism, public health, education and training.

The site is developed and managed by ETV as an adjunct to its DESC.info website (Distance Education South Carolina) which lists distance-delivered academic credit courses, continuing education unit courses, non-credit courses, degree programs, and more from various South Carolina institutions.
